Brief Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at the University at Buffalo. I obtained my Ph.D. from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. One of my primary areas of research is health monitoring and robotic-assisted inspection (e.g., using drones). I am interested in such developments for infrastructure systems and buildings to enable assessing and quantifying the condition of structures in near real-time, aiming to enhance their sustainability and resilience under service and extreme events. Another primary research area is robotics and automation, with applications to human-robot collaboration for future remanufacturing. My research interests also include performance-based methodologies for hazard resilience, nonlinear structural dynamics, and earthquake engineering.
